Layette Volunteers

Job Overview:
Set up and arrange the Layette section in order by size and type of item. Maintain the baskets/bins/shelves to promote shopping.
Assist shoppers to find what they need.
Job Details:
* Attend area team meeting(s) and/or find Area Leader for direction after check in
If working Friday:
* Hang signs and arrange baskets/bins according to instructions below.
* Pull items that are worn, torn, stained, broken, safety hazards, etc. – At the end of set up, your Area Leader will go through the items
to reevaluate. Keep our standard high! Notify seller of any pulled item so that they can return it to their vehicle.
* Watch for pre-shoppers during setup and remind the pre-shopper that this is not allowed. If a seller continues to pre-shop, please notify
your Area Leader first, then Sale Coordinator if necessary.
If working Saturday:
* Keep aisles clear, baskets/bins straight, neat and in order
* Rearrange and consolidate as appropriate; disassemble tables as appropriate
* Assist shoppers
* Do not leave your area without checking with your Area Leader first!
* Contact seller if the shopper has a question
* Keep an eye out for switched tags.
* Toward the end of the sale (usually last 30 minutes of sale, earlier if most items have sold), evaluate as a team what has not sold and rearrange
Cleanup
* When asked, bring your numbered bin out and place in order
* Deliver unsold items to sellers’ areas. Keep an eye out for items in the wrong bins to help eliminate missing items
* Begin disassembling Club tables to be ready to go to the truck
* Begin disassembling site table
* Wait for Roll-call before leaving
Area Leader – Same as team members PLUS:
* Must be work the whole sale (Friday & all day Saturday.)
* Must arrive on time for the beginning of Set Up.
* Review the duties of the team members with them during area team meetings
On Friday, supervise team members during set up to ensure quality
* Have team members hang signs and arrange bins & tables
* Designate a box to place items that are worn, broken, stained, etc.
* At the end of set up, go through the box to reevaluate items before you take them to the designated reject location. Keep our standard high!
* Have team watch for pre-shoppers during setup and remind the pre-shopper that this is not allowed. If a seller continues to pre-shop,
please notify a Sale Coordinator.
* Return on Saturday by roll call
During the sale:
* Supervise your team to encourage them to stay on task. If they are not, kindly find them something to do if possible
* Make sure there is always someone in your section to help shoppers and keep things in order. If you are leaving your section for a break,
lunch, etc, please let your Team Members know where to find you. Someone should always be in your section to assist shoppers.
* Toward the end of the sale (usually last 30 minutes of sale), supervise your team as you sort furniture according to seller number.
How Layette is arranged:
* Layette Clothing – sort by size of each –
o onesies,
o sleepers,
o sleep blankets,
o socks,
o tights,
o underwear (new only),
o hair accessories,
o etc
* Linens & Bedding – Bedding sets, sheets, receiving blankets, changing pad covers, bumpers, etc
* Nursing – Pumps, nursing pillows & covers (Boppy, etc)
* Eating – bottles, bowls, utensils, bibs, burp cloths, pacifiers (new)
* Misc - Baby monitors, bathtubs, diaper genies, changing pads
* Baby carriers – Bjorn type carriers, slings, etc
* Décor – all room décor & misc items
* Diaper bags, backpacks, and suitcases
* Books & videos on pregnancy & parenting
