Area Leader:
Job Description:
Assist Cashiers, Cashier Helpers, and Checkout Assistants.
* Must arrive on time at the beginning of Set Up!
* Review the duties of the team members with them during area team meetings
* On Friday, supervise team members during set up of cashier area and then release them to help where needed.
* Have team watch for pre-shoppers during setup and remind the pre-opper that this is not allowed. If a seller continues to pre-shop,
please notify a Sale Coordinator.
* Return on Saturday by roll call.
* During the sale:
* Supervise your team to encourage them to stay on task and at their register.
* Make sure there are always at least 4 cashiers available at all times.
* Contact seller if the shopper has a question.
* Encourage your team to keep an eye out for switched tags
* When asked to close your register, bring your box to the ‘Back Room’
* Wait for Roll-call
Cashier Team Members:
Job Description:
Work at assigned register for the entire time of the sale on Saturday being careful that all items are scanned in or entered properly. You will
be assigned an area during set up on Friday and/or in presale meeting on Saturday.
Team Members:
• Attend area team meetings for direction after check in:
• Friday workers
* Set up cashier area.
* Hang signs according to Area Leader’s direction
* Arrange area for check out lines according to Sale Coordinators direction
* Assist Sale Ops Coordinator with register/computer prep and placement.
* When area is complete you will be given a section to help set up.
• Saturday workers
* You will be given a ziplock bag from the Cashier Helper with cut tags and Item Count Slip. After you scan the tags, the number of items
scanned must match the number on the slip as well as the number of items counted by the Cashier Helper. When these match you will
write the number of items on the slip as well as your initials. Give the slip back to the customer. Tell them it is their proof of purchase
and it must be given to the person/Security at the exit. The cut tags will go back in the ziplock, write the transaction number and
register/computer letter on the outside of the bag. (If there is already a number on the bag, cross out the old number) seal it and
placed in your box. You must have an exact match of items, tags and scanned items, close enough does not work!
* You will have a sheet to fill out for problem tags - seller number, tag issue. (i.e. tags don't scan, barcodes are faded, etc.)
* Do not leave your area without checking with your Area Leader first!
* Do Not Leave Cash Box Unattended!
* Keep an eye out for switched tags! Read item descriptions when scanning items to ensure it is the correct item.
* When asked to close your register, bring your box to the ‘Back Room’ and then go to the floor to help in a section that needs additional
help. (Ask the Area Leader for instructions.)
* Wait for Roll-Call before leaving
