Cashier Helper Volunteers

Job Overview:  Work at assigned register for the entire time of the sale and assist cashier, as needed. You will be responsible for cutting tags, counting tags and items the customer is buying and matching that to the total number of tags the cashier scanned. Once totaled numbers match, you write it down on the checkout slip and give it to the customer who will need it to pass through Security at the exit.  If working Friday shift, you will help Toys set up once the Checkout area is complete. Job Details:   • Attend area team meetings for direction after check in If working Friday * Set up cashier area.  * Hang signs according to Area Leader’s direction * Arrange area for check out lines according to Sale Coordinators direction * Assist Sale Ops Coordinator with register/computer prep * When ALL is complete then help Toys. * Arrange Toys according to Area Leader’s directions * Help sellers unload boxes and place the toys in the correct place * Pull dirty, non-working (no batteries) and out of season items.  Keep our standard high. Saturday * Stay at your assigned register. * Cut the bottom portion of the tags off of the items to be purchased and gather them neatly for the cashier. Mark on the Item Count Slip – the Number of Items and Your Initials then place the slip and cut tags in the ziplock bag and give to the cashier. Count items to be purchased quickly but accurately! You must have an exact match of items to tags, close enough does not work! * Check for signs of switching on pins (tape has been removed, pinned in a weird spot, description doesn’t match). * Do not leave your area without checking with your Area Leader first! * When asked to close down, go to Toys Area Leader to find out what to do to help. * Wait for Roll-call before leaving
